Welcome to another installment of STC Explorator Fleet! This month the Tech-Priests of STC continue on their Exploration to reclaim some of the coolest and most inspirational posts from around the blog-o-sphere that way have been lost in the Warp.

Legion 9 Studios - Hellhound Conversion
What I really really like about this Hellhound is the color choices and contrast from the green of the turret/tanks to the dark grey chassis. The weathering really ties it all together in this nice little dirty package from Legion 9 Studios.
Daith's Forge - Plague Bearer Diorama
Daith's Forge brings us the disgusting lovely little Plague Bearer Diorama. His blog has always been a favorite of mine for it's atmospheric dioramas. Go check it out for more Nurgle goodness!

Aleatorblog - IG Progress
It surprises me more people don't follow this blog. Though you might want to use Google Translate, the pictures do speak for themselves. The author has been working on this army for a while and the progress he's making is superb. Be sure to check this out.

The Dark Templar - Nurgle Hell Drake Part 4
Dark Templar's Nurgle Hell Drake has taken what most other gamers have disliked in ascetics and turned into a pulsating beast of art. Your stomach will curdle as your eyes scan over its fungus infested skin. I urge to just swallow that vile and relish in the taste of nurgle for Dark Templar has been busy this past month bathing in the after birth of decay. Without a doubt he is a champion of Nurgle.

Bloodbowl Arena
This very talented work was something I came across on The Overlords Facebook group. The modeller, Hauke Jacobsen, now has his own blog (Kick Off Returned) where you can see a lot more of the progress on this set. The consistent detail, character and quality of this field really sets it apart. It would be an honor for anyone who gets to play on a table that looks this good.
xv9 Hazard suit commander with shields
This model is from Third Fate Creations although I couldn't find it on their site. As a commission service you'd expect great results, but they really went above and beyond with this one. The shield effect looks amazing, and in the post on Cool Mini they were good enough to give a description of how they achieved the carbon fiber look on the model.Drkmorals
Wrapping the Army Up: Magma Cannon
Let's go ahead and combine Forgeworld, Evil Dwarves, and Lava with some solid brush skillz. I believe this is the fantastic work of BuRock and you can find it over on the Gargantar site. Follow the link for some more detailed pictures from a few other angels.
Cork Basing - The Beginners Guide
I always like to highlight fantastic how to articles for the community when I see them. The Rebel's Grotto delivers a nicely done article with pretty solid results. Jump on over to bookmark and share some basing 101 and don't forget to tell them that the STC sent you!

For The Limey! - DA Speeder Tutorial
While I don't play Dark Angels, I was once known as "The Magnet Pro" years ago back when I first started blogging. I have a lot of appreciation for good magnet-work and this interchangeable DA speeder is well worth a look. Step by step the author walks you through what to do and a lot of the techniques can be used in day-to-day magnet conversions.

All round excellent work, its worth clicking on even if you just like to look at pictures of pretty models. Check out his tutorials too, some brilliant ones in there worth checking out.

Excellent finds everyone! the Fantasy Games Chaos Lord and Third Fate Battle suit are killer!
ReplyDeleteFantastic article this month! So much great work out there from fellow bloggers.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mention, guys. Those Darkshroud models were lots of fun to do. Also, magnets really are the best way to stretch your large model money these days!
