For several Dark Eldar units I had to paint in a way I've never painted before; leathery bat-like wings. I didn't want to go the route I've been down before of a simple 2 tone drybrush and wash. I wanted something special, yet quick and effective. SO this is what I came up with.

With 6th Edition changing everything we know about the strength and validity of armies in the tournament scene I think it's important to look at the most basic elements of each army to come to such conclusions. From a weapon's cost vs another to the changes made to toughness for biker units. However, I don't want to overlook the major players in a codex, either. This got me thinking about the meta for certain armies that stood the test of time with a certain build through all of the 5th Edition and how things may change for them in the coming months or years. One such build that comes to mind is Vulkan marines and how since Codex: Space Marines came out so many years ago this one build has been on top in respect to other builds using the same codex. There are, of course, other builds out there that are competitive, but there's a reason so many tournaments saw Vulkan more than others on average. This series is going to look at the Vulkan list, how things may change for it and what I believe will ultimately be its replacement as top-dog of C:SM builds.

As we sift through the new rule book pondering, weak and weary, over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore. Trying to grasp the intricacies of the new rule book like a teenage boy studying a super model poster, Lest we forget while looking at the new Shit, the long hard road that got us here.
We all travelled the lonely road of 5th but it’s the only one we knew, but at the end of what any Nid players will call a boulevard of broken dreams we have a new edition. But like many of you out there I was unable to jump head first into the new rules right away because I still had one final event using the dusty tomes of old.
Each of us have a story about our last game or games of 5th edition, this is mine. You think you know… but you have no idea.

I don't want to eat the apple of mortality. The sins that we have committed stain the skin of mankind. The air around us is clouded with the murkiness of our crimes. Each of us an atrocity of our own. Weakness, lies, all within. Bubbling and festering from under our translucent flesh. Slowly falling towards the atrophy of our humanity we succumb to malice of our names. Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Pride, Lust, Envy and Wraith.

My name is Charles AKA Drkmorals My stomping grounds are currently Dayton Ohio or as I like to call it the land of corn and never ending road construction. I started really tinkering with this gateway drug that GW calls a game around the end of 4th edition. The edition if I remember right in which every vehicle was a flaming metal box of doom for the people riding inside. I started getting more serious about the game and more involved though about 3 years back and will admit I have been for the most part more of a competitive gamer than a hobbyist.. Don't judge me we all start someplace right?

I'm another of the magnificent 7. Well, 7 at the moment, that number is subject to change depending on the tides. Been in The Hobby™ for quite a while, just not consistently. And yes, definitely have a case of Shiny Thing syndrome, that doesn't really help. Anyway, I'm here because...
Who the $%&# is HOTpanda??? This question has alluded me for the better half of my life. The only reason it has not transgressed with the other half, is that I lost it long ago with my virginity. Now that I have lost half of my readers I have nothing more to lose. With that said I hope to shed some light on the elusive topic known as HOTpanda. Neither HOT nor a Panda he is a man that does not require his underpants but is never seen without his towel as he is a man to be reckoned with. Surfing the cosmic rays of horror and science fiction he has been carving a path of destruction through the blog-o-sphere. Well slightly to the left side of it as the right side was occupied by a peanut. So without further ado lets see who the $%&# is HOTpanda???

I guess this is where we begin our journey into the realm of tabletop. Hello, my name is Lantz and I'm an addict...of plastic little toys. For those of you who don't know me I've been around the blog-world for a few years spreading my charm all over the internets. My blog history consists of co-writing for Twin-Linked Awesome, Miniature Wargame Conversions, Santa Cruz Warhammer, guest-writing and competing in HOP Idol 2011 on House of Paincakes and a couple of appearances on The 11th Company podcast. What I assume most of you will recognize my name from is the creation and maintaining of my Adeptus Mechanicus fan-made codex. So where did I come from, what am I planning for the future and how will I contribute to STC? Join me after the jump.

I'm Ron aka LuckyNo.5, I've been floating around the internet for quite some time in both sci-fi and wargame modeling circles.
About 10 years ago my roommate at the time introduced me to 40k. It was an instant love for me as I am sci-fi geek by nature. Now about $40k later I'm still very much in love with the game system and the models despite all the naysayers and new competition out there.
Most people would recognize me for my Dark Eldar and Chaos Conversion work as well as my terrain which has been published in a CoolMiniorNot 2009 annual.

Gentlemen, Ladies. Your attention.
Access to this resource will prove highly useful. Too many vehicles and armor sets follow the same limited set of templates. Our specialist will review the STC and provide notes on new and previously unknown patterns and styles. Methods of creating these as well as detail on specific techniques will be provided. Additionally we will provide analysis on the outcome of battle simulations, discussion of items such as development of army deployment codices, and a variety of other possibilities.
